Copper Self Rimming (over the countertop) Sinks (14 gauge hard pure copper)

The most common request we receive is as follows:

"I have an existing double or triple bowl sink that I hate. Is it possible to replace it without changing out my countertops?" Most sinks are 33"X22, 43"X22 or 48"X22. We can replace all sink sizes.

There are two solutions. The most cost effective solution is to replace the existing sink with a custom self rimming (top mount) sink. Take a look at the before and after photos. This was one of the most dimension critical projects we have done in a while. The back of the sink had to touch the back splash of the countertop while fitting perfectly in the sink cutout. As you can see, the sink fit perfectly. Make sure you CLICK on the images so you can see the detail.

Below find the email that came along with the "after" photos: By the way, the cost of cutting the granite on site was only about $200 according to Dave.

"Dino
Soon after we built our house we realized that the kitchen sink design was flawed.  We had an under-mounted double bowl stainless sink.  The smaller bowl contained the disposal and was the primary working site.  It was totally inadequate.  It could barely accommodate a plate much less a pan or pot.  So began the search for a replacement.  Over the course of the next 6 years we exhaustively searched for a solution.  We discussed trying to create a custom single bowl stainless to fit the exact template of the double bowl but no stainless manufacture was willing to guarantee a reasonable fit.  The original manufacturer did not have a pre-fabricated single bowl under-mount that would exactly fit the granite cut out.  The only option we were left with was to remove and replace the entire granite counter top which was unthinkable.

Well that was until we stumbled across Dino's website.  I couldn't believe what I was reading.  A real solution to our problem.  He could fabricate a sink to our specifications.  And ever better it could be made of beautiful copper.  And we would not have to replace our granite counter tops.  I was elated.  Needless to say it sounded to good to be true.  I figured it was one of those internet scams.  I would send money and be left looking like an idiot with nothing to show for the money I spent aside from embarrassment.  But the more I investigated his site the less weary I became.  I finally took the plunge and picked up the phone to make the call from the Midwest to the East coast and see if it was the real deal.

From that point forward it was nothing but shear excitement.  Dino was the consummate professional.  It was obvious he knew what he was talking about.  I sent him some pictures and from there he guided me through the process. He directed me to get specific measurements and in no time he created a proposal and bid.  It far exceeded our expectations.

Dino constantly checked in with us.  He gave me his email and cell phone number.  He helped us decide on faucets and accessories.  He finished manufacturing our sink ahead of schedule.  We received the faucets ahead of schedule.  He packed the sink so securely that I really don't think it could have been damaged.  After that, the granite guy's arrived and removed the old sink, cut out the new template and installed our enormous beautiful copper sink.  Next the plumber came in and finished the install and we were only without a sink for a day!

As for the finished product.  See for yourself.  Absolutely gorgeous!!

We are very grateful for your wonderful products and service Dino.

 Sincerely,

Dave and Missy"

copper prep or vegetable sink

We also make copper sinks that are designed to sit on the countertop. This one features a flange which we turned down 3/8" so the sink sits proud of the countertop.

This is the finished sink that was shown in the video above. It could be used as a self rimming or top mount sink or as an under mount.

Large single bowl copper top mount (self rimming) sink with rear deck. Many of you have tried to find 48" sinks to replace a Kohler Triple bowl sink. This is the sink that replaces it!

This sink is one of the most complicated sinks that can be made. Each piece is welded together, including the 3/8" rim around the flange.

Here is a photo of the above sink after it had been installed for about 6 months... There is a note from the customer below...

The customer was kind enough to send this photo in about 6 months after the installation. This sink is 48 1/4" long by 21 1/4" wide and is 8" deep. The faucet is a "Gantry by Waterstone". This sink replaced a triple bowl sink. See more here
"When we moved into our home, it had an early 1990s over-mount three-basin white sink that was big overall but totally unusable because each individual basin was too small. We wanted to replace the sink with something more useable and nicer looking without replacing the granite countertop. But there were no ready-made sinks of the same size. We were intrigued by having a copper sink because the counter is brown granite and the overall kitchen design is darker, with bronze accents, and too subdued for lots of stainless steel. Dino got the original plans for the sink to confirm the size and then designed an oversize one basin sink for us. It has the drain in the right rear and an square lip around the edges to fit in the pre-cut hole in the granite. It also has a ledge on the back for the faucet and related hardware. It is shallower than the original sink so we don't have to bend down as much. Dino also made us a matching bar sink (the round one above) that was technically very difficult to fabricate because it is cylindrical in shape. He helped me pick out the matching faucets too. I had been trying to do this project for a couple of years before I met Dino but each time I got derailed because the outfits I contacted previously did not step forward to guide me through the whole process (and reassure me that a sink could be designed and fabricated by someone who had never set foot in our kitchen) like Dino did.

The new big sink is so much more functional than our old three-basin sink -- the big single bowl design now lets us get pots and pans fully in the sink; the right corner drain works really well for washing things; and the slightly shallower depth is easier to work with. Both sinks and their cool faucets look stellar on their own. But all of a sudden those elements of our kitchen that previously looked a little run down now seem to look chic-ly rustic. And although our old over-mount white sinks simply looked dated, the over-mount on the copper sinks looks like a savvy design element."

I asked a recent customer, who replaced a triple bowl undermount sink with a top mount sink, how much did the project cost and how long did it take? Here is her response. The time frame to replace the sink was approximately 6 hours (1 hr for the plumber to disconnect, 3 hours for the granite guy to remove the sink and change the granite opening to fit the new sink-put the hole for the faucet and 2 hours for the plumber to reconnect the sink and faucet including installation of the garbage disposal) however it had to be done over a 3 day period because of scheduling (had I known the time involved it might have been done in one day). The plumber charged $335 plus the cost of the new garbage disposal (which I am very happy I did as it appears the old one really had some problems in comparison to this new one) and the granite guy charged $90/hr for a total of $270. Even the granite guy asked about your website for some of his customers. I figure that including the cost of the new disposal I saved between $2000 and $4000 by having you make the sink and getting the great faucet from you over getting a "Chinese" sink & faucet and replacing the granite as would have been required. My husband is beginning to see the advantage of the texture so it is growing on him (he does not like change although he loves the size and quality of the sink and faucet). I am so glad I found your website and spoke with you about the sink - glad you talked me out of a multiple bowl - glad I purchased the terrific faucet from you - my kitchen is so much prettier and I love the sink and faucet more than even I imagined I would. Thank you and your staff for a great purchase. I have several friends who will be green with envy, so of course I will pass on to them your website.

top mount, self rimming copper sink with rear deck for faucet

"We absolutely love the sink, and I think it\'s the favorite part of our "new" kitchen. It constantly changes (in color), is understated, and is comfortable to use (the dimensions are). The drain is amazing. The faucet is soooo practical, I want to die; plus it\'s so cool looking." Karim R.

This is a self rimming sink with a rear deck to house the faucet and sidespray. Without question, her faucet is one of  the coolest faucet on the market. It is made by Waterstone and is available to purchase at a deep discount from our sister company, Luxury Home Products.

The sink features a 1/4" flange turn down to give it an architectural look.

Here is a self rimming sink with an integrated faucet deck and back splash. This sink features Waterstone Towson faucet, soap dispenser (left) side spray, and a filtered water faucet.

I love the sink and faucet!  The plumber who installed it was so impressed that he called his business partner to come and take a look at it.  It is so easy to clean.  I have extremely hard water, and it hasn't water-spotted at all.  All of my friends have admired it as well.

I also like the wire drainer that I purchased from another company.  I place it on the counter when I am washing or rinsing dishes, clean the sink, and then put it back in the sink to let things drain.  Your drainer was too large for my small sink.  AND, I found a cast-iron teapot that goes great with the sink and granite.  (I am a sucker for teapots.

You can list me as another satisfied customer.

top mount self rimming copper sink with rustic patina

I just had to show this photo. This is a sink what was not quite finished. I took the photo in our shop and did not have time to photograph it when it was finished. This is such a cool sink. It is a top mount sink with a one inch turn-down all sides. The sink will sit a full inch above the countertop - which happens to be a rustic black cherry. We put a rustic patina around the one inch area and lacquered it. I can't wait to get a photo once it is installed. I just love this one!
