Copper Under Mount Kitchen Sinks by Rachiele
14 gauge pure hard cold rolled American Copper
 

This is our new "Smarter Sink". It is an under mount sink featuring a small ledge front and rear, set down 2" from the top of the sink. This ledge allows for copper grids, cutting boards and other options to rest on, and slide back and forth of the ledges.
This option is available on all copper sinks, whether under mount, self rimming, or apron front. I truly believe this is the best sink design on the market today. This particular sink has a left rear drain (customer is left handed).

This is the best color rendition of what our weathered copper interiors look like. I took a great deal of time color correcting this photo. Click on the image and see if you can find the penny in the sink.

Remember, our copper sinks are antimicrobial. Few if any others on the market can make that claim legally.

For those of you who are interested... This is what our sinks look like just after manufacturing and prior to the patina process.

This copper under mount 30" sink features our self healing naturally weathered interior. We use no harsh chemicals, waxes, or lacquers - therefore we can claim (according to the E.P.A.) that our copper actively kills bacteria. This under mount copper sink also features a right hand drain location. This will allow you to place most pots, pans, platters and cookie sheets inside the bowl without covering up the drain. Rear center or center drains make no sense at all. Try to think of a thoughtful reason for putting a drain in the middle of a sink!

This sink is approximately 1 year old, using one of our solid copper disposal flanges - with a right rear drain. It just does not get any better than this!

When it came time to picking a sink for my kitchen renovation, how could I select anything other than copper? After looking just about everywhere, all I could find were flimsy, poorly constructed sinks whose finish appeared an attempt to hide the natural and ever-changing beauty that pure copper develops over time.

Off to Washington we go! (2008) We ran a large order of under mount sinks for a recent customer. This photo just looked so nice we had to post it. These sinks are shown prior to weathering. The sinks are going to Washington in the offices of the new Senators. Nothing but the best for our government when they are spending "our" money! I am glad we got the order, but wish they had purchased stock sinks at a fraction of the cost.







 

Our sinks are like our babies sent out for adoption. We remember them all. I get photos of sinks in their new homes almost every day by email. This is just one of hundreds of examples.

I have a patent on a sink with a partially setback drain location. The drain can be either in the center or the right or left corner. This sink has no patina yet - that is why it is so shiny and a new penny color. It did receive a weathered patina, however I did not photograph it at the time. We have sold quite a few of these in California as potting shed sinks.  (What... no copper sink in the potting shed? What will the neighbors think?) Due to the manner this sink has to be built, the labor is quite extensive. A little more than twice the labor of a standard rectangular sink. These sinks price around $3250 (Compared to a rectangular sink - $1809)

Yes, we build double bowl custom copper under mount sinks for those who fill one bowl with soapy water and the other with clear water. The better way is to use our single bowl sink with a rear corner drain though!

Here's another one. I think this is the second double bowl sink we made in 2011. Somewhat similar to the one above (also made in 2011).
