Our weathered and oil rubbed bronze patinas are unlike any in the industry. Our weathered and our oil rubbed bronze patinas are not plated. We hand dip the drains in a patina solution, hand rub the drain to the desired coloration, and hand apply a temporary oil coating. The finish is NOT designed to last forever. We assume you will be installing these drains in a copper sink. Copper sinks eventually weather with use. So will our drains. Your drain will develop a similar look to your copper sink in time.

Why are our drains more expensive than most?
The answer is simple. The material cost is significantly higher and the manufacturing process much more difficult and expensive. There is a reason why no one else makes solid copper drains like ours. It is very difficult. The metal copper is nearly impossible to draw (stretch) into the shape of a drain. Stainless and brass are metals which draw easily. That is why they are the chosen metals to plate when drains are made. Solid copper, in the thickness required for a drain, will generally split, tear, or ripple when stretched to the depth of a drain. It took 6 months of R&D to make our first drain. It takes an unbelievable 17 draws at 17 precise temperatures to make a drain. Our first run had a 50% failure rate. Our best so far is a 25% failure rate. As you can see, working with copper in this way is very difficult and expensive. We now understand why no one else has done this!
