Form bowl with stone edge. This gorgeous bowl is made of the
semi-precious stone Lapis. The interior is unpolished. All sinks are available in different styles
and stone materials. Lapis is prized for its deep blue color. It was
used by ancient Egyptians in a powdered form for eye shadow. Lapis
generally has specks of Iron Pyrite in it (Fools Gold). You will see
this throughout our sink.

Amber
in round basin style
Amber is translucent. You
will see specs of debris, an occasional butterfly, twigs and leaves
trapped inside the bowl. Natural amber is very light, in fact it will
float in sea water. Our sinks are light as well, even though we have
mixed the natural amber with gemstone resins.

White Buffalo Oval
style When discovered in the Dry Creek Mine, north of Austin, Nevada, in
1993, they were not sure what it was. Because of its hardness, it was
decided to send it in to be assayed and their suspicions proved correct;
it was in fact White Turquoise. It was not until 1996, however, that it
was finally made into jewelry. White Turquoise forms where there are no
heavy metals present, which turns out to be a very rare occurrence. To
date, no other vein of gem quality white turquoise has been discovered
anywhere else in the world. When this current vein runs out, that will
be the last of it. Because White Turquoise is as rare as a white
buffalo, the Indians call it "White Buffalo" Turquoise.

Technology has
allowed for the extraction of DNA from animals and insects trapped in
amber. In May of 1995 microbiologist
Raul Cano announced he had revived bacterial spores from a stingless bee
entombed in amber 25 to 40 million years ago. The amber provided an
airtight shell that protected both the bee and bacteria. Amber is a
fossilized plant resin, not tree sap.
Sap is the fluid that circulates through a
plant's vascular system, while resin is the semi-solid
amorphous organic substance secreted in pockets and canals through
epithelial cells of the plant. This resin can drip from and ooze
down trees, as well as fill internal fissures, trapping debris such as
seeds, leaves, feathers and insects. The resin becomes buried and
fossilized through a natural polymerization of the original organic
compounds. Real amber does have a plastic look. If you can imagine
hardened tree sap on the side of a tree, this is what it
"looks" like. This is "natures plastic."

These sinks
are large. In comparison, everyone has seen a standard round porcelain
on steel bathroom sink with a faucet mounted on the back ledge. That
sink is 19" including the faucet ledge. The stone edge vessel sink
itself is 19" The Free Form vessel is 21", a bathroom cabinet
is 21" front to back. Keep in mind, these sinks can overhang the
front of the countertop.
