Stainless Steel Self Rimming (top mount) Sinks (Stainless drop in sinks)

Our Stainless steel top mount sinks are quite popular due to the fact that we can easily replace your old sink with a minimum of disruption and additional cost. If you have an existing top mount or under mount sink and you would like an economical replacement, this is the one to consider. All you do on your end (after we plan out your sink) is call a granite fabricator to come out and trim the sink cut-out to a rectangular shape. Often, that only means squaring up the corners. One of my customers told me his cost was under $200 to do this. Our sink will drop right in the opening and will have a deck on the rear to house whatever faucet suite you choose. Most replacement sinks are 33"X22", 42"X22" or 48X22". All of these sinks are custom made, so we can make any adjustments needed to fit your situation.

Sure, glad you like my photography.  I did a lot of cooking this weekend and the sink really makes the experience so much more enjoyable.  I didn't realize how important it was to the process. Thanks Rich

The sink to the left has a rear center drain, a request from our customer. I strongly recommend a right or left rear drain. We build replacement sinks all the time. If you have a discontinued Blanco, Kohler, Elkay, Franke or any other brand, we can usually make a suitable replacement.

Left, see a top mount "Smarter Sink" with the optional stainless steel drain grid. This customer requested a hammered interior. Hammered stainless sinks seem to be getting very popular these days. I really like the look.

Our stainless sinks are significantly more difficult to manufacture than copper sinks. You might find our copper sinks a bit less expensive! See our new Rustic matte hand rubbed finish below. Click on photos for detail.

We replace Kohler, Franke, Blanco, and other double and triple bowl sinks almost every day.

We have often been asked about whether we use sound deadening on the bottom of our sinks. Years ago, we tried several products, including the pads that many other sink manufacturers use. Due to the thickness of our stainless, these products did virtually nothing. In order to dampen sound, the product must alter how much the metal flexes or provide a sound barrier between you and the sink. Rubber pads do the trick with 18 gauge sinks or 16 gauge sinks that have been pressed into shape, as the pressing stretches the stainless to a much thinner gauge than the original. The thinner metal can be affected by rubber pads. Since our sinks are so heavy and rigid, merely installing them cuts down the sound generated by dropping an item in the sink. The larger sinks, those 36" and longer, have been a challenge for me to find something to deaden the sound more.

Recently, while doing my daily research, I found a product that works on our beefy stainless sinks.  You see, a rubber product is just not good enough. Our new vibration damping sheets are constructed of an advanced, non-curing, butylene rubber bonded to a thin layer of black aluminum. Unlike other types of vibration damping material, ours has been engineered to utilize sheer force to control vibration. The thin layer of aluminum incorporated into the sound damping product will prevent the stainless from vibrating far better than any other product I have found.

Starting May 1, 2011, all stainless sinks 30" or larger, will have a damping sheet attached to the bottom of the sink.

I asked a recent customer, who replaced a triple bowl undermount sink with a top mount sink, how much did the project cost and how long did it take? Here is her response. The time frame to replace the sink was approximately 6 hours (1 hr for the plumber to disconnect, 3 hours for the granite guy to remove the sink and change the granite opening to fit the new sink-put the hole for the faucet and 2 hours for the plumber to reconnect the sink and faucet including installation of the garbage disposal) however it had to be done over a 3 day period because of scheduling (had I known the time involved it might have been done in one day). The plumber charged $335 plus the cost of the new garbage disposal (which I am very happy I did as it appears the old one really had some problems in comparison to this new one) and the granite guy charged $90/hr for a total of $270. Even the granite guy asked about your website for some of his customers. I figure that including the cost of the new disposal I saved between $2000 and $4000 by having you make the sink and getting the great faucet from you over getting a "Chinese" sink & faucet and replacing the granite as would have been required. My husband is beginning to see the advantage of the texture so it is growing on him (he does not like change although he loves the size and quality of the sink and faucet). I am so glad I found your website and spoke with you about the sink - glad you talked me out of a multiple bowl - glad I purchased the terrific faucet from you - my kitchen is so much prettier and I love the sink and faucet more than even I imagined I would. Thank you and your staff for a great purchase. I have several friends who will be green with envy, so of course I will pass on to them your website.
