Solid Copper Disposal Flange and Stopper/Strainer
Finally... A real solid copper kitchen sink drain and disposal flange that is not "plated" in copper. For years we have watched the copper sink industry in wonder. With the rise in interest in copper sinks, you would think there would be a copper drain on the market. That was not the case. We were forced to offer plated drains and did our best to offer the best on the market. We provided Mountain Plumbing drains for years. In fact, that is what I had for a long time in my home. They are lost all of the plating in two years! Finally, I found someone who would manufacture solid copper drains and flanges for us. No plating to peal off or wear off.
This is a photo of a brand new "Plated" copper drain. The plating pealed off before it was even installed. Plated drains or disposal flanges just will not last.
I recommend the Insinkerator Badger model shown below. Click on the link to order one! I found a great deal on Amazon for you. Basically they say it is used due to damage on the box. It has a full warranty as if new and you save about $30.
This is a photo of our disposal flange assembly. Our weathered patina is unlike any in the industry, our product is not plated. We hand dip the drains in a patina solution, hand rub the drain to the desired coloration, and hand apply a temporary wax coating. The original patina is NOT designed to last forever. It will change along with your sink to match that patina. We assume you will be installing these drains in a copper sink. Copper sinks eventually weather with use. So will our drains. Your drain will develop a patina that will look like the patina in your copper sink in short order.
I recommend the InsinkErator Badger 5XP 3/4 HP disposal.
Lifetime warranty on copper parts permanently affixed to the sink, 1 year warranty on mechanical. Please note, we do not manufacture these. We are offering them as a service to you because solid copper flange assemblies are near impossible to find and we are acutely aware that a plated drain will eventually fail.If you have a Waste King disposal, you will need two parts in order to make it work. You will need the Waste King 3101 ISE adapter kit and an ISE 5298 Flange body. Both should be available for less than $15 total, plus shipping. The Evolution Insinkerator has a Quiet Collar Sink Baffle that will make our strainer basket sit a bit high. It will function properly, however the strainer will be above the floor of the sink slightly. Our solid copper disposal system is designed with a strainer instead of a simple plug. This will give you the option of plugging the drain or gently running water while shucking oysters or other items while letting water flow through while catching debris. The water will not evacuate nearly as fast as removing the strainer assemtly. Simply lift and turn the strainer and it will stay in the up position so water will flow. Turn until it drops to plug the drain. To evacuate water quickly, simply remove the entire strainer section just as you would with the disposal plug that came with your disposal.
