We take pride in creating our custom sinks with only the best materials, and that includes using high-grade domestic 316L stainless steel. Why 316L? Unlike standard 316 stainless steel, 316L has a lower carbon content. This makes it more resilient against rust and corrosion, ensuring that your sink will stand the test of time, even in the harshest of conditions. 316L is even more scratch resistant than the 304 alloy.
But that's not all. Our special Millennia stainless sinks are crafted from a unique 304L stainless steel. This type of steel is specifically chosen because it matches perfectly with the patented design of these sinks, delivering exceptional durability and corrosion resistance. You might ask why we use 304L instead of 316L for the Millennia. It turns out that the manufacturer has small defects in the roller that rolls the 316L material. It is not visible under any light other than LED lighting. We noticed it in a sink years ago and brought it to the attention of the manufacturer. They said it was too expensive to replace the rollers, so we moved to a slightly lower-quality material. That said, it is far and above superior to the typical 304 stainless used by the masses.
You might wonder, why should you care about the types of stainless steel used? The quality of steel plays a significant role in how long your sink will last and how well it will stand up against wear and tear. While many manufacturers opt for the more commonly used 304 stainless steel, the lower carbon content in 316L and 304L types offers superior corrosion resistance.
In short, the steel in your sink matters a lot. With our sinks, you're not just buying a piece of kitchen equipment; you're making a long-term investment in quality.
