I have had the distinct pleasure of working with numerous professional chefs over the years—some of whom you’ve likely seen gracing the pages of your favorite culinary magazines or cooking on TV shows. These chefs aren’t just professionals in their craft; they are true connoisseurs of kitchen functionality, having spent countless hours in both commercial and home kitchens. Their expertise and insight into what really works—and what doesn’t—have been invaluable in shaping the evolution of our custom sink designs.

These chefs are not only at the top of their game when it comes to cooking, but they also know their way around a kitchen like no one else. They understand how crucial it is to have a workspace that flows seamlessly, where every tool is within reach and nothing slows them down.

Interestingly, many of these chefs first came to us after checking out some of the other high-end sink brands you often see in showrooms. What I’ve consistently heard from them is that while those sinks may look impressive, they tend to come with a laundry list of gadgets and accessories that sound useful but end up being more of a hassle in real life. It turns out, more gadgets don’t necessarily make things easier—quite the opposite, in fact.

These chefs have told me that adding more accessories around the sink—especially in the main food prep area—actually wastes valuable time and takes up precious storage space. And if there’s one thing a professional chef hates, it’s a cluttered, inefficient workspace. They need room to move, space to work, and a setup that helps them focus on what really matters: creating great food.

That’s why I’ve always focused on designing sinks that prioritize functionality over flash. I’m not interested in loading up our workstation sinks with unnecessary gadgets that just end up collecting dust and eating up valuable storage space. Instead, I design with efficiency in mind—creating solutions that make your kitchen work better for you. It’s about cutting out the fluff and keeping what’s truly useful. Every family prepares meals differently; hence, every custom sink and accessory package is differently tailored with each family.

It’s no surprise that so many professional chefs end up choosing Rachiele Custom Sinks. They value simplicity and thoughtful design because, at the end of the day, a sink should help them get the job done faster and more efficiently—not slow them down with a bunch of extra parts they don’t really need.

So, if you’re looking for a professional kitchen sink that works as hard as you do, without all the extra clutter, you’re in the right place.

Below is a photo from an accomplished professional chef, Kim Kushner.  She has appeared on the Today show and has been featured in The Huffington Post and the Chicago Tribune.  She also has a best-selling cookbook entitled  "I Heart Kosher: Beautiful Recipes from My Kitchen" as well as a more recent best seller, "The Modern Table".
