Common Questions About Replacement Sinks
Over the years, many customers have voiced concerns over the look of a top-mounted sink. Many fear that their kitchen may not have a modern feel. Fortunately, as you can see below, our drop-in sinks are gorgeous! In fact, many customers prefer to top-mount their sink because they like the look of the metal on the countertop. Having the sink top mounted also ensures that there is no way to chip the edge of the countertop around the sink.
We are often asked if it is difficult to wipe countertop messes into the sink. The answer is no. Our sink flanges are only 1/16 of an inch thick. Most importantly, our custom workstation sinks are designed for efficient food preparation, serving, and cleanup directly within the sink area. This eliminates the need to dirty your countertops or wipe debris into the sink from elsewhere.
In most cases, replicating the shape of a double-bowl sink as an undermount requires a completely custom design where the bottom of the sink is a separate piece from the sides. Additionally, the flange must also be a separate component. This level of customization demands extremely precise measurements on both your end and ours, along with significantly more welding and finishing time.
Ultimately, this results in a very expensive sink that, in my opinion, doesn’t offer nearly the same functional value as a workstation sink. It’s also important to note that workstation sinks cannot be made with curved sides, limiting the feasibility of this approach.

Seek a reliable contractor who recognizes that you only need your countertop cut, not replaced. Over 25 years and hundreds of projects, none of my customers have experienced a countertop crack! Opt for a contractor who is clear and honest about what to expect. In Central Florida, we can suggest a company that handles both cutting and plumbing. As of January 2026, the typical cost for both countertop cutting and complete plumbing services ranges from $1,100 to $1,400.
