Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with all kinds of materials, but there’s something special about bronze. It’s not just a sink; it’s a statement. There’s also something special about the bronze alloy I chose. It’s 90% copper and 10% zinc. I chose this alloy because of its deep golden tone. Other bronze alloys can have a greenish tone. If you’re considering a bronze kitchen sink for your home, I can assure you—it’s worth the investment. However, like anything else, it’s important to know what you’re getting into. So, here’s what I’ve learned over my years in the business about bronze sinks.

1. The Look: It Only Gets Better with Time

Custom Bronze sinks are like fine wine—they get better with age. When you first install one, you’ll notice the rich, warm tones that immediately stand out in your kitchen. But over time, as the sink further develops its patina, it takes on a whole new level of character. The organic, unpredictable evolution of bronze is part of its beauty. If you’re the type that loves watching something change and age gracefully, you’ll fall in love with bronze. To see a couple of our custom bronze lavatory sinks scroll to the bottom of the page.

2. Built to Last – For Real

Durability is a big deal for me. I don’t design anything that won’t stand up to the rigors of daily life - for generations. When it comes to bronze sinks, you’re getting a product that’s tough as nails. This material is resistant to corrosion and doesn’t wear out like some others do. And with proper care (and I mean just a little care, not a full-time job), it’ll outlast your kitchen—and maybe even you!

3. An Unseen Hero: The Antimicrobial Factor

People often look for antimicrobial sinks. Here’s something most people don’t know: bronze is naturally antimicrobial. This is thanks to the high copper content in the alloy. Now, I’m not saying your sink will scrub itself clean, but it will certainly give bacteria a much harder time than other materials. All that is required is that you clean your sink with something like Dawn soap. If you’re as big on food safety as I am (I cook a lot, so I know), this is a bonus that’s often overlooked.

4. The Patina: Embrace the Change

Let’s talk about the patina. Over time, your bronze sink will develop a natural, darker finish. This is a feature, not a flaw. It’s one of the things that makes bronze so unique. Some customers ask me if they can stop the patina from happening. Sure, you can polish it regularly, but honestly, why would you want to? It’s the very thing that gives the sink its charm and character.

I always compare it to a leather jacket—it looks great when you first buy it, but it’s the wear and tear that makes it yours. Your sink should be no different.

5. Bronze Sink Care and Maintenance: Keep It Simple

How to maintain a bronze sink. A lot of folks get nervous about maintenance when they hear the word “bronze.” Here’s the thing—it’s easier than you think. You don’t need a team of experts or special products. Just avoid harsh chemicals. A little soap and water will do the trick most days. I recommend letting the patina do its thing—it’s part of the sink’s natural beauty.

6. Investing in a Bronze Sink: Why It’s Worth It

If you’re like me, you believe in doing things right the first time. A bronze kitchen sink is an investment. Yes, it’s more expensive than some of the other options out there, but in the long run, you’re getting something that’s not just functional but also timeless. It’s going to enhance the look of your kitchen, and if you ever decide to sell your home, a well-crafted bronze sink is the kind of detail that stands out to buyers.

Even if you’re not selling, this is something you’ll enjoy every single day. Cooking, cleaning, prepping—you name it. Every task feels a little more elevated when you’re working in a space that feels intentional.

7. Custom Options: Tailored Just for You

One of the best things about bronze sinks is that they’re highly customizable. I’ve worked with countless clients to create sinks that not only fit their kitchens but fit their exact needs. Whether it’s a large workstation sink or a smaller, more compact design, we can build something that’s both practical and beautiful. Bronze gives us the flexibility to get creative, while still maintaining the rugged durability you need in a kitchen.

8. Pairing Bronze with Other Materials

I’ve seen bronze sinks paired with all sorts of countertops—granite, marble, wood—you name it. The great thing about bronze is that it’s versatile. It can blend seamlessly with a variety of designs. Whether you want a high-contrast look or a warm, cohesive feel, bronze plays well with other materials.

Final Thoughts: Why Bronze is the Right Choice

At the end of the day, if you’re looking for a sink that offers a perfect balance of durability, beauty, and long-term value, bronze is an excellent choice. It’s not just a functional element in your kitchen—it’s a centerpiece that evolves with you over time. And if you’re anything like me, you’ll appreciate the way it matures and adds a sense of history and warmth to your home.
