This is a photo of the first workstation sink we built. Back then, I called it the "Smarter Sink". It is now called our Signature Series. So, how did this come about? Well, back in 2010, I had a customer that wanted a farm sink. He also wanted the ability to have a cutting board. I had done this in the past. However, the cutting board had to lip over the back countertop, then drop down to the apron top with a second drop down to capture the wood board. It was not only cumbersome but also heavy and expensive. Back in 2010, my sinks were designed by me but manufactured by another local company (Vickers Metal Works). I drew up my customer's idea, and this sink was born. I still remember the gentleman's name that ordered this sink. Robert Pennybaker was his name. I kept in touch with him for some time, wondering if the ledge would hold water or if there were any other possible concerns. The feedback was wonderful. No negative issues at all. He loved the sink. As you can see, it arrived around Christmas time, and he staged this photo for me. This design, being unique to my company, became quite popular. I purposely did not patent my idea. I felt it was too valuable to keep to myself, being a very small company. I was pleased to see companies like Kohler and others use my design. I have never seen mass producers as competition. Since 2010, I have developed many more workstation designs, as well as introduced the Paragon™, which was the brainchild of Jessica Faisca. She realized this design could easily be achieved by combining my Signature Series and my NexGen workstation designs. Who knows what is coming next? I can assure you, we will never stop innovating!
